Tuskegee Contracting, LLC was established in Oct. 2010 with the goal of becoming an 8(a) Certified Small Business General Contractor. As President / Owner, Jeff Rayford is responsible for developing its organizational structure, employment hiring, marketing, business development and defining the short and long-term goals for the company. On 19 June 15, Tuskegee Contracting received certification from the SBA for Participation in the 8(a) Business Development Program.
Jeff Rayford also retired from the Air Force in 1998 and qualifies as a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). On 3 Mar. 15, he received verification as a SDVOSB from the Center for Verification & Evaluation of the VA Administration and this verification was renewed in Jan. 2020.
Tuskegee Contracting’s primary focus is construction / renovation for DoD, State, Local & Municipal clients capitalizing on the relationships developed since 1998 and experience gained while employed with other successful 8(a) businesses. Current Client/Customers include the Navy, Air Force, Army, Army Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES), VA Administration, USCG and the Defense Commissary Agency (DECA) at Ft Lee in Petersburg, VA.
As we continue to provide quality workmanship & on time project completion, Safety remains our #1 PRIORITY. Through this effort our EMR reduced from .90 to .84 in 2021. We also received several safety awards from Jacobs Technology, Inc. for achieving over 1,000 Incident-Free Man-hours while performing construction work at NASA Langley Research Center, Hampton, VA. To further enhance our focus on safety we participate in the ABC Safety Training Evaluations Program (STEP) and qualified for the Platinum STEP Award in 2020.
